“The Girl” de City and Colour es el 25º #antilunes.

Llevamos días desconectados, y ya me da hasta vergüenza intentar justificarme. Entre mis propósitos de año nuevo, cuanto te espero bribón, está la organización de los blogs y una estrategia más cuidada. Pero es que llevo un tiempo en el que como para estrategias ha estado el tema.
El #temazo de hoy es de 2008, y es de City and Colour es el proyecto paralelo y en solitario de Dallas Green, originalmente miembro de Alexisonfire. Se titula “The Girl” y es una preciosidad de canción.

Según el propio cantautor, comenzó a escribir material a los 13 años. En cuanto a las canciones publicadas en su primer álbum, "Sometimes", Dallas dijo que fueron escritas en su adolescencia, aunque realizó algunas modificaciones en 2005 para el álbum.
Dallas Green empezó su carrera en solitario al subir sus canciones en internet para los fans de Alexisonfire. Con el apoyo de ellos, que lo respaldaron en este proyecto paralelo, las canciones sufrieron algunos cambios para finalmente aparecer en Sometimes. El álbum debut salió a la venta en noviembre de 2005. El artista americano también apareció en un disco tributo a Neil Young ("Borrowed Tunes II: A Tribute to Neil Young"). Su discografía comprende: The Death Of Me EP (2005), Sometimes (2005), Live (2007),  Waiting EP (2008), Bring Me Your Love (2008), Little Hell (2011), The Hurry & the Harm (2013). En este 2015 han lanzado If I should go before you.
Este es el videoclip del penúltimo #antilunes de 2015. Como veis dos partes bien diferenciadas en un gran homenaje del mejor folk americano, la primera es una balada, la segunda se anima y se anima e invita a participar en los coros. Dallas Green planteó dos versiones en una misma canción, y esto es, quizás, lo más grande de The Girl.
