Estrenamos videoclip de lo nuevo de Josh Ritter “Getting Ready to Get Down”. #Antilunes (8ª entrega).

El pasado 31 de julio se lanzaba el nuevo single de la genial promesa del folk americano Josh Ritter, “Getting Ready to Get Down”, adelanto de su nuevo disco que se publicará el 16 de octubre Sermon on the Rocks. No sé si hablar de promesa o de firme realidad, ya que el éxito le llegó a este cantautor americano en 2002.
Josh Ritter nació en Moscow , Idaho. Hijo de neurocientíficos, Josh se compró su primera guitarra tras escuchar el clásico de Bob Dylan y Johnny Cash “Girl From the North Country”, compartimos gustos en eso. Comenzó en el Oberlin College con la intención de seguir los pasos de sus padres científicos, pero en su lugar descubrió a Gillian Welch, Townes Van Zandt y Leonard Cohen. Se graduó y se fue al este por su cercanía a la historia folk en clubs como el Club Passim de Boston. Lleva 7 discos de estudio, muchos EPs publicados y varios discos en directo.
Su meteórica carrera se gestó con el boca a boca, hasta que llegó a las manos de un afamado productor. Ritter se granjeó su fama entre la venta al por menor de sus primeros discos y un periplo por Irlanda, ese país en el que la música, como la buena cerveza, nunca faltan. La crítica se rindió ante su música y Ritter se ha convertido en un artista de culto a seguir muy de cerca.
Por muchos motivos necesitamos este #antilunes. Vosotros también tendréis los vuestros. Pero su melodía, su letra y su ritmo nos llevaron a elegir “Getting ready to get down” para comenzar luchando esta semana.


La letra hoy os la dejamos, pese a que la tenéis en el vídeo. Su ritmo es adictivo, no vais a poder dejar de darle al play y reproducirla. Me parece una de las mejores canciones de 2015, y aún nos queda mucho año por delante. Si este primer lunes de agosto trabajas, espero que te ayude este fantástico #antilunes que encierra algo de crítica social y rebeldía ante un momento malo. Hacemos nuestras estas canciones.
